Eat To Live

Today marks what I hope to be a lifestyle change for me!  Inspired by one of my beautiful sisters, I have decided to Eat To Live.  For any of you who know me, it's no secret that I LOVE food and because of that I have gained more weight than I'm happy with and in turn have tried numerous diets through out the years.  While some of the diets worked, I would always eventually slide back into my old ways and gain back everything I had lost plus some.  It has been soooo frustrating to say the least.  But now I have been introduced to the book Eat To Live by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.  Although I have not yet read the whole book, I decided that I could not wait another day to start this lifestyle change!  And I am so excited about it!  Eat To Live is not just about weight loss, it's about eating to improve the quality of your life!  How could you say no to that?!?  I am going to retrain my taste buds by cutting out processed foods and sugars (and numerous other tasty foods), and in turn gain the healthiest life possible!  I know it will be a challenge, and there will most likely be numerous days when I just want a Big Mac, but in the long run I know a Big Mac will not add to my happiness (no matter how yummy it is).  By posting this on the web, I am hoping it will be a source of accountability for me, because I really want this to be a success!  To start off this morning I had my first green smoothie (delish!).  I made it from almond milk, spinach/arugula mix, frozen mango and banana, and ground flaxseed.  Talk about yummy, I can definitely get used to this for breakfast every morning!  Take a look:

Emily: Senior Rep

I met up with Emily and her Mom this week to take a few "senior" like photos, however, after taking just a few shots I secretly appointed Emily to be my Senior Rep because she was rocking it!  Seriously, I don't think I even got one bad shot of this girl, every frame was amazing!  What made the pictures even better was that she never stopped laughing, which made for quite an amusing and fun shoot!  And then we ran into a field of SUNFLOWERS!  It seriously does not get any better than that!  Emily and Jean, I hope you love these pictures as much as I do, and Emily I can't wait to see you next year for your REAL senior pictures!
