Life in the Fast Lane

These past few weeks have felt like life in the fast lane.  There was so much going on and so little time in which to get everything done!  Last week I turned 25 and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.  With how fast life flies by these days I feel like I am running out of time to accomplish everything that I want to!  When I look back on my previous years what sticks out most to me is the time that I wasted and the dreams that I let slip away.  When I was young I was a good gymnast with Olympic dreams, and then I quit gymnastics.  I took piano lessons for years, and then I stopped playing.  I had dreams of becoming an author, and then I stopped writing.  Am I a quitter?  My track record certainly seems to confirm that I am, or, just maybe, I can learn from my mistakes.  I can feel the regret of everything that I gave up on and never let myself give up again.  This is what being 25 means to me.  I have lived my life for 25 years and I have learned and I have grown.  I will not let another 25 years go by without fighting for my dreams!  I may feel like an old lady (who is usually in bed by 8:30) sometimes, but I have plenty of fight left in me to accomplish my dreams.  I am 25 and the best is yet to come!

1 Year Session: Mia

This weekend I had the pleasure of taking some 1 year old photos for little Mia, who is an absolute doll!  I couldn't get many smiles out of her, but with her family's help we were able to capture a few!  The sun was playing peek-a-boo during our session so lighting was a bit difficult, but it seemed to come out at just the right times.  I had a great time photographing this little one and I am so grateful for the images we got!  Please enjoy!

I will end with one of my favorites of the day, Mia and her mommy!

1 Year Anniversary

One year ago today I married my best friend!

Our wedding was photographed by the wonderful Meyer Photography.

David,

I cannot believe our one year anniversary is already here!  I have learned so much about you this year.  I have found so much about you to love.  I love:
  • Your smile
  • Your strong work ethic
  • Your cooking and how you have to follow a recipe to the "T"
  • Your compassion
  • Your confidence (which I once interpreted as cocky-ness :)
  • Your desire to learn and your drive to succeed
  • That you hit the snooze button 5 times before you finally get out of bed
  • Your decisiveness
  • That you are my personal GPS and you have finally accepted the fact that I get lost...A LOT
  • Waking up to you every morning
  • That you would rather resolve a conflict than fight about it
  • YOU!
We have so much more life to live together and there is no one I would rather do it with.  We have so many changes coming up in this next year and I am so excited to see where our road leads.  I love you more than anything!

Samantha June

I wanted to document this time of our lives together so I had my wonderful mother snap some photos of us as we ate our saved wedding cake!  I loved the results (even though you could tell David was so not down for eating year-old cake!!)!!

Happy Resurrection Sunday

Happy Easter Everyone!  What an amazing weekend I have had with family and friends!  These days I believe the true meanings of holiday's gets lost in all of the ruckus of the decorations, traditions, and specific to Easter, bunnies.  That being said, I believe it is extraordinarily important to take the time out to reflect on the reason we have each holiday in the first place.  And when we think of this, it becomes evident that Easter may be one of the most exciting/important holiday's there are.  This is the day that Jesus was resurrected!  Jesus is alive!  WOW!  When you look at it like that, it kinda of makes every other day dim in comparison...how do you compete with that!?!  This is a day to be thankful and humbled that the Creator of the universe loved each and every one of us enough to sacrifice his own Son so that we have the opportunity to live eternally with Him.  While this blows my mind!, I am also grateful for the excuse to spend time with my familia, and I do enjoy easter eggs and CANDY, of course!  Here is how I enjoyed spending my holiday...how does your family celebrate?
